Mike is a male German Shepherd and is the first K-9 officer in the West St. Paul Police Department since the late 1960's. He was born in the country of Slovakia on February 19, 2006. After coming to this country in February of 2007, he was partnered with Officer Carl Elam who has been a Police Officer since early 1992.
Officer Carl and Mike completed twelve weeks of intensive training at the St. Paul Canine Training Center and were immediately assigned to patrol duties.
Officer Carl and Mike would like to thank all those who have supported this Canine Program and made it possible for them to serve the broader communities of St. Paul, W. St. Paul, Mendota Heights, South St. Paul and Eagan, Minnesota.
